Manifesto

Reduced to its most elemental consequence, man's earthly undertaking is nothing less than the struggle to order the chaos of material existence. Nothing can be brought to order, however, without some manner of subjugation, whether coercive or consensual.

Hailing from Oakland, California, and comprised in part of veterans from the Angel Hair, Boyjazz, and Mount Vicious campaigns, Generalissimo uses three guitars, bass, drums, and powerfully sung vocals to express this somewhat esoteric point: order implies violence.

The sound is high concept, high modernist broken rock that evokes the aggression inherent in all forms of organization—an impression reinforced by Generalissimo’s carefully detailed stage show. Similar to Queens of the Stone Age and The Melvins, Generalissimo is an exercise in restraint. Similar to North Korea’s Mass Games, Generalissimo is a demonstration of radicalized unity.

Chaos is the enemy of man—Generalissimo is the enemy of chaos.

Abandon the failures of the preterit.

Join in the exaltation of the elect.
